    The girls Varsity Cross Country team placed 2nd of 18 teams at North Harrison last night.  Leading the team was Alyssa Moore, Hannah Keehn, Katie Perkins, Abbie Ewing, Sarah Henry and Ryan Meza. The JV finished 1st lead by Connie Rhodes, Kendra Mifflin, Abby Marguet, Jamie Bierman, Jenni Fifer, Lisa Goette and Zoe Doebbler

    All students-If you’ve made a difference by volunteering in your community over the past year, you could win $1000 and a trip to Washington DC by applying for a Prudential Spirit of Community Award.  To apply, go to www.principals.org/spirit.  Deadline is November 1.
     
    The Wendy’s High School Heisman 2010 application is now available online. Senior student athletes with a B average are encouraged to apply!!  The first 41,000 students who apply are guaranteed a Wendy’s gift card.  Go to www.wendysheisman.com to apply.  Deadline is October 3.
     
    The Horatio Alger Association offers a scholarship from $2500 to $20,000 to students exhibiting financial need and integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.  For more information, go to www.horatioalger.org.  Deadline is October 30.
     
    Miami University of Ohio presents the Bridges Program.  This is an all expense paid overnight visit program for seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA, college prep curriculum and demonstrated leadership.  Sessions are in November.  See scholarship board for applications.  Deadline is September 10.
     
    Check out $500 scholarship opportunities for students who plan to pursue health education, physical education, recreation, dance education or sport administration.  Applications are due January 15th.

    There is a part-time/seasonal job posting in the guidance office at Kiesler Farms in Greenville.  Previous experience is helpful but not necessary. Hours vary on weather.
