    NEW SCHOLARSHIPS as of 3/8/10: Websites are posted in the guidance office and on the FC Website

    Kelsey Martin Memorial Tennis Scholarship application is now available on the scholarship board.  You must have participated on the school tennis team to be eligible.  Deadline is April 9.

     

    Sullivan College of Technology and Design offers a $3000 scholarship for those planning to attend Sullivan.  Deadline is May 7.

     

    St. Mary’s Academy in New Albany is awarding a $300 scholarship to a student who graduated 8th grade from St. Mary’s elementary, a member of St. Mary’s Church. Application is online. www.smcsonline.com.  Deadline is April 21.

     

    Phillip A. Cox Balanced Man Scholarship for $500 is available for male freshmen planning to attend IU Bloomington.  Deadline is April 1.

     

    Classified Employees Association is offering a $250 scholarship to a graduating senior. 

    Deadline is April 9. Only two have been turned in to date.

    Students are to place your name and NEXT YEAR’S grade level at the bottom of your partner’s card and vice versa.  DO NOT separate the white copies!  Staple your cards together with your partner and return them to the box at the BOOKSTORE before school and during lunch.  Deadline is MARCH 19th.  If you do not return a completed locker card with a partner – one will be assigned for you.  Choosing to locker with someone not in your grade, the locker will be assigned to the lower grade level person.

    Remember to sign-up for the April Driver’s Education class at the BOOKSTORE before Spring Break.  You can also sign up at the BOOKSTORE for the DRIVING SKILLS TEST to be held this SATURDAY, MARCH 13th.  See Mr. Hay if you have any questions.

    Any students, staff, and teachers who would like to purchase a shirt for Haiti with the four world languages printed on it, please see Mrs. Bixler in room 208 no later than Friday.  All profits from the shirts will be donated to the relief efforts in Haiti.

    The theatre’s spring production of the musical “Little Women” is this weekend. Show times are Friday- Saturday, March 12, 13 at 7:30 and Sunday the 14th at 2pm.  VIP seating is available.  March 13th is Alumni Homecoming Night.  Call ext 3527 for tickets.

    PARENTS:  The After Prom Information and planning sessions are as follows:  Thursday, March 11th at 10AM; Wednesday, March 31st at 3:30; and Thursday, April 15th at 7pm.  After Prom is Saturday April 24th from 11pm – 3AM.  Parent viewing is 10-10:30pm.  Contact Melissa Langdon at 949-8302 or email mlangdon@insightbb.com.

    This past Saturday, the girls’ track team competed at Depauw University to qualify for the state Indoor track meet at Purdue University.  Meghan Jones hit the state qualifying standard in High Jump at 5 feet; Nikki Roberts finished 3rd of 25 in the meet barely missing the state standard in the 55 Meter Hurdles. 

    The 4 x 200m Relay consisting of Nikki Roberts, Meghan Jones, Carmen Keehn, and Laura Der placed 3rd;

    The 4 x 400m Relay consisting of Meghan Jones, Alyssa Moore, Laura Der, and Kaitlin Hien placed 2nd;

    Locker cards for next year will be distributed TOMORROW March 10th to students in grades 9-11. Students are to find a locker partner and place your name and NEXT YEAR’S grade level at the bottom of your partner’s card and vice versa.  DO NOT separate the white copies!

    An article of clothing with the Colts logo has been turned in to the office.  Please stop by to identify and claim.  Also check with Mrs. Stewart for lost flash drives, house keys, car keys, glasses, jewelry.  Other clothing such as coats, shirts, pants, shoes, and books can be claimed at the bookstore area.

    Seniors who completed the local scholarship application last Fall are eligible to apply for the Nassim, McMonigle and Mescia Scholarship for $500. Applications are in Student Services. An essay is required.  Deadline is March 19.

    Students in grades 9-11:  The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is offering a $2000 grant to a student who has made significant contributions and extraordinary efforts to benefit fellow citizens, neighbors and communities.  Not only can you receive a grant, but also a four year college scholarship and recognition in the museum’s Power of Children exhibit.  If you’re interested in being nominated, info is on the scholarship board.  Deadline April 23.

    IUS OPEN HOUSE is this Saturday, March 13th from 9-Noon at the University Center. Map your course and learn more about admissions, financial aide, academics, housing and campus life.  Campus tours will be every 30 minutes beginning at 9am. Reservations are helpful but not needed.   See the bulletin board in student services for more information.
