    All girls who are not competing in the state meet need to stop by the track and turn in their uniforms by Wednesday June 2nd and also pick up banquet information.

    Congratulations to the Girls track team on their victory against Jeffersonville winning 67 to 65.  Event winners were the 4X800 and 4X400 teams.  Nikki Roberts broke her own school record in the 100 hurdles; Hannah Watkins in the 1600, Meghan Jones in the 400, Nikki Roberts in the 300 hurdles, Alyssa Moore in the 800 and high jump, and Hannah Keehn in the 3200.  Sara Schraffenberger, Brittany Helmer, and Payton Rice swept the pole vault.  Come out and support the lady Highlanders at the FC invitational this Friday at 6:00.

    This past Saturday, the girls’ track team competed at Depauw University to qualify for the state Indoor track meet at Purdue University.  Meghan Jones hit the state qualifying standard in High Jump at 5 feet; Nikki Roberts finished 3rd of 25 in the meet barely missing the state standard in the 55 Meter Hurdles. 

    The 4 x 200m Relay consisting of Nikki Roberts, Meghan Jones, Carmen Keehn, and Laura Der placed 3rd;

    The 4 x 400m Relay consisting of Meghan Jones, Alyssa Moore, Laura Der, and Kaitlin Hien placed 2nd;

    The girls basketball team won the school’s first Regional title on Saturday.   They advance to the Final Four at Southport where they play Ben Davis on at 6PM.

    Girls BB sectional will be played tonight.   FC plays the 2nd game at 7:30.

    The girls swim/diving team won their 3rd straight IHSAA Sectional Championship on Saturday. Sectional Champions are the 200 Medley Relay team of Katelyn Cato, Haley Dresner, Shelby Weathers & Brittany Baird; Haley Dresner in the 100 Freestyle & 100 Breaststroke; 400 Freestyle Relay team of Shelby Weathers, Katelyn Cato, Haley Dresner & Sarah Taylor.  The 400 Freestyle Relay also established a new school record. These are the girls who will participate in the State Championships on Friday.

    The freshmen, JV, and Varsity girls basketball teams all won Tuesday.  The freshman team beat Providence 25-23 to improve their record to 10-2.  The JV and Varsity both beat South Central.  The JV team improved to 9-3 with the win and the varsity team improved to 15-0.

    The Varsity team won 93-47 led by Jennifer Smith’s 25 points and 14 rebounds, Mercades Bierman scored 18, Camry Hinton 17, Brigid Morrissey 12 points, and Morgan Rookstool’s 10 points.  Erica Smith had an excellent rebounding night with 8 and also aided by Samantha Feather’s first varsity points. The girls are now 13-0.

    The Floyd Central girls basketball team hosts New Albany tonight for Cancer Awareness Night at Floyd Central High School.  All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game.  The JV game begins at 6:00 and Varsity  at 7:30.
